Game fair a success despite wet end

THE ANNUAL Scottish Game Fair drew to a close at Scone Palace yesterday.
A grey sky and more than a little rain ensured that the event did not quite see the visitor numbers the first two days had promised.
Nonetheless, around 10,000 people per day took the opportunity to learn more about the countryside and enjoy a huge variety of displays and demonstrations.
Visitors were offered the chance to test their skill at a wide range of activities, including archery and clay pigeon shooting, quad- biking and climbing.
And to see how the experts do it, there were gundog, fishing and shooting competitions throughout the three days.
A range of musical entertainments, more than 400 trade stands and a food hall rounded up the offerings at the largest game fair to date.
