Guiding back on the river at Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland.
To-day (07/07/2008) was our first day back guiding on the river at Stanley. We had quite a good day with 2 salmon landed and returned back to the river and one good salmon lost after playing it for ten minutes.
Young Charles Gifford hooked a cracking salmon estimated at about 12 to 14 pounds on a flying C in the Corner pool but unfortunately after a tremendous fight lost it close to the net. I was lucky on the Dyke and landed this small grilse and Geordie caught an oldish 8 pounder in the Corner pool. Both fish were returned.
