Salmon Fishing Scotland October Salmon Fishing on the Lower Tay 2012.

Salmon Fishing Scotland October Salmon Fishing on the Lower Tay 2012.

It was another cracking autumn day on the Tay with some late sunshine. This was the last official day on the river but we will still be fishing on until the end of October on an experimental basis returning all salmon caught but analyzing the catch over the period.
Autumn at Stanley in glorious autumnal golden colours.

Nick Turner plays an autumn salmon in the Horsey pool of the Pitlochrie beat at Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland.

A fresh 8 pounds salmon was successfully landed then released. The river was still carrying sediment from the spate last week and was far from perfect but we landed 3 salmon all carrying sea lice. Hopefully if the river clears more autumn salmon will run the river over the next few weeks.
