Salmon Fishing Scotland Late October Salmon Fly Fishing on the lower Tay 2012.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Late October Salmon Fly Fishing on the lower Tay 2012.

It was a very cold late October day on the river today and we had a determined party on fishermen.
Mark Melville from the Delfur beat on the Spey was soon into a fish fly fishing from the bank in Horsey on the lower Tay Pitlochrie beat at Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland.

Mark landed the fish and carefully returned it.

Tim Greenfield plays a salmon from the boat in Horsey.

The fish was landed successfully and released. Both salmon that were caught on the beat took size 10 flies which is very small for this time of year. On the beat below they had one salmon and it took a 3 inch Kynoch! You can never work these fish out!

The light fades on the Wash House on a very cold night.
