Salmon Fishing Scotland Spring Salmon Fishing on the Tay, Perthshire, Scotland 2010.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Spring Salmon Fishing on the Tay, Perthshire, Scotland 2010.

After the thaw yesterday the river was fining down and clearing as the day went on. Stobhall fared best today with 2 spring salmon but conditions should be better for tomorrow.

Dave Young with a superb 14 pounds spring salmon from the Linn Pool on the Stobhall beat of the Tay just above Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland which was caught today. A further 9 pounds spring salmon was also caught on the Stobhall beat today. Big water suits the Linn Pool in the spring along with the cold river temperature.

Aitken Head pool on the Benchil beat just below Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland today.
The river level was around 6 feet on the SEPA Ballathie site today which was a perfect height for this pool. Spring salmon would only be yards from the bank and easily covered.

This was a cracking sea liced 13 pounds spring salmon from the lower Tay beat of Waulkmill just above Perth, Scotland. John Anderson from Bathgate was the lucky anglers ably assisted by Scottish Ghillie Jim Last. The springer was caught harling on a Kynoch.
