Salmon Fishing Scotland Harling on the River Tay, Perthshire, Scotland.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Harling on the River Tay, Perthshire, Scotland.

This is a video of a unique custom which happens on the Tay in Scotland because of the sheer size of the river. It is called Harling which is trolling lures behind a boat in a river and systematically covering lies within the river. Tay Ghillies acquire this skill after several years of experience holding the boat against the different currents within the river.
This was Scottish Ghillie Dave Barwick harling in the Horsey pool at Stanley, Perthshire today. They caught a Kelt in the process.
