These were some of the images on the Benchil beat today where I caught my first spring salmon of the 2010 season.

A 14 pounds spring salmon caught in the Aitken Head pool of the lower Tay just below Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland today. The springer was caught on a Kynoch from the boat and was carefully released back to the river.


Aitken Head on the Benchil beat which can be a very productive pool in the spring. I caught 2 Baggots and a springer form this pool today.
