Good day on the Pitlochrie beat at Stanley.

Ben Williams plays his first ever salmon let alone spring salmon spinning in the Wash house pool of the Pitlochrie beat at Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland.

The lovely 13 pounds spring sea liced salmon is finally landed after a tremendous fight.

This prise salmon is carefully released back to the river. Well done Ben.

Not content with a first fish Ben is quickly into another on the fly.

This was a fresh sea liced spring salmon as well weighing 7 pounds. Stanley Mills is pictured in the background.
This was a day Ben will not forget for a while.

Good stuff. Yet again colder than it looks so conditions not easy. 2 different pools, 2 methods. Cant beat that.
