Salmon Fishing Scotland Fred Buller Fly Fishing on the Tay 2009.

Today 17/08/2009) I was privileged to have Fred Buller Fly Fishing in the boat with me. Fred in his 80's is the author of the famous book on massive atlantic salmon. The book called the "Domesday book of Giant Salmon" is a must for true anglers of Atlantic Salmon.

I have a copy of this book, it recounts the halcyon days when you might well encounter a leviathan, sadly these days are gone never to return. The book is more than a little interesting and the Tay featured well way back.

halcyon and leviathan, get the dictionary oot these are real fancy words. no ghillies need apply

I thought these words described the situation perfectly, but, if you wish you could substitute, _ -- halcyon with placid, untroubled -- and -- leviathan with behemoth, cyclopean.
I am pretty sure modern day ghillies like Bob understand these wonderfully descriptive words.

You sound like people who would subscribe to "The Scottish Angling Forum" -- just a wee bit dippy.
