August got off to flying start on the Tay after a disappointing July.
At Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland we had only 6 salmon in July but on the 1st of August we had 4 in one day. The Grilse are just starting to run and there are some cracking summer salmon running the river.
This is local angler James McKay with a sea liced 15pounds summer salmon caught in the Kirkie Stream on a flying C. Later in the day James caught another good summer salmon of about 16 pounds in the Horsey pool of the Pitlochrie beat which was returned.
