Salmon Fishing Scotland Last Day Salmon Fishing on the Tay, Perthshire, Scotland October 2012.
It was the last Salmon fishing day on the Tay, Perthshire, Scotland but unfortunately the conditions were not ideal with a rising water from heavy rain especially in the west from the previous day, never the less every beat was out in force.
Jimmy McGregor plays a salmon on the Horsey pool on the Pitlochrie beat at Stanley from the boat.
A silver 7 pounds fish was landed which was savagely attacked by a seal. The fish was released hopefully to do its work for the future of the river.
Jimmy playing another salmon which came off close to landing.
Gordon McKenzie playing a good salmon in the afternoon which was very strong. After getting the fish under control and close to the bank it fell off. It was a very fresh salmon about 15 pounds but turned out to be the one that got away! Fresh salmon are still running the Tay.
The light fades on another Tay salmon fishing season. A full Tay report for the last three days will be posted tomorrow.
