Salmon Fishing Scotland Large Autumn Salmon on the Tay October 2012.
It was another bitterly cold day on the river with temperatures struggling to get over 6C and driving rain as well. Everyone was saying it was even colder than a spring day in similar conditions.
There was a very warm fire in the hut at the Wash House on the Pitlochrie beat which was very welcome at lunch time.
This was 8 year old Cally Hay yesterday with one of two salmon he landed with the help of his father on the Upper Redgorton beat. Cally is a very keen angler and was out on the river in his school holidays. He landed 2 salmon harling in the boat weighing 14 pounds and a very impressive 26 pounds.
Mike Hay with the 26 pounds salmon prior to release. A great experience for you both, well done Mike and Cally. It is good to see some young anglers on the river and enjoying success.
