John Ratherham hooks a spring salmon from the bank in the Erics pool of the Catholes beat of the lower Tay at Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland. John was spinning a devon and had never landed a salmon before.


After a lengthy struggle with assistance the salmon was finally in the net.


John with his cracking 10 pounds sea liced spring salmon. Also pictured are Ruben Mort, Simon Lysons and John Ruffles.
After the picture was taken the salmon was safely returned to the river.
