It was another good day on the Stanley beats of the Tay, Perthshire with a couple of spring salmon landed. This was Alistair Sheach playing a good springer on the fly in the Woodside pool on the Catholes.

The ultimate prize, a magnificent spring salmon estimated at 17 pounds landed after a terrific fight then carefully released. The fish was caught on a Tungsten Turbo Tube.

Roddy MacKay fly fishing in the Back Dam yesterday from the boat in ideal spring fishing conditions for the Stanley beats with a cold water temperature slowing any fish down giving rods a good chance of hooking up.
A further springer was landed on the Pitlochrie beat today caught by Gleneagles ghillie Gerry Rattrey on a Toby from the bank in the 5 Trees pool.
