Salmon Fishing Scotland The Tay Dinner 2009.
These are pictures of the recently held Tay Conservation Dinner held at the Ballathie House Hotel on 11th June 2009.
This was Roddy Willis of Savills introducing the Tay Long service awards.
Awards were given to Willie MacGregor from Atholl Estates, Jimmy Barratt from Stanley and Dennis Buchan from the Kercock beat who have all retired from the river after many years service.
This was myself introducing the one and only Jim Davidson.
This was Jim Davidson in full flight.
He was truly magnificent as a speaker and will be a hard act to follow.
Totally unscripted and yet managed to bring in all aspects of the river Tay and its personnel with his gift to tell the most outrageous stories.
A true legend and certainly deserving the O.B.E for services to television and entertainment, particularly of British Soldiers in conflict zones.
This is the Dandy Davidson fly designed by Cohn O'Dea and Ranald Hutton which was specially commissioned for Jim Davidson for the occasion. This was presented to Jim on the night as a momenta of the occasion.
The pictured frame of the fly.
All on the Tay must thank Jim Davidson for coming over to perform and also to Tay fisher Steven Lamprell for bringing him to our great river.
