Salmon Fishing Scotland Fly Fishing on the Tay June 2009.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Fly Fishing on the Tay June 2009.

The Tay Conservation Dinner is nearly upon us again. This year the guest speaker is the comedian Jim Davidson and it will be held in the Ballathie House hotel near Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland.

Today (10/06/2006) I took Steven Lamprell and Jim Davidson up to the Dalmarnock beat for a days salmon fishing.

This was Jim Davidson spey casting across the Tay for the first time.

The heavens opened in the afternoon but that did not deter the effort.

They enjoyed their day but alas they didn't catch. A lovely fresh 10 pounds salmon was caught on the beat in the morning by another guest fly fishing which was carefully returned. Hopefully we will have better luck tomorrow.
