Salmon Fishing Scotland Spring Salmon Fishing on the Tay March 2013.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Spring Salmon Fishing on the Tay March 2013.

This week has brought us incredible weather in Perthshire, Scotland with clear blue skies almost every day making spring salmon fishing a very pleasurable pursuit despite it being winter and cold.

Dawn on the Tay looking over Horsey at Stanley.

This was Alistair Dunbar playing a salmon on the Catholes today.

The salmon was an old fish and it was debatable whether it was an early run spring salmon however it put up an incredible fight and had not spawned. Scale samples where taken with several pictures and they will be sent off to the fish lab at Pitlochry for analysis. The fish was not registered on Fishtay.

Last light on the Catholes after another memorable day at the start of March.
