Conditions were much better on the Tay after a big spate yesterday and expectation was high.

Emily Hodgkins had never caught a salmon before but it was not long into the day that her line tightened and she was playing her first fish.

After a lengthy fight the salmon was netted.

Emily with her first ever salmon, a fresh 14 pounds beauty which she carefully returned to the river. Well done Emily, a true sportswomen.
