Salmon Fishing Scotland Spring Salmon Fishing on the Tay 2010.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Spring Salmon Fishing on the Tay 2010.

This was the luckiest angler on the River Tay in Perthshire, Scotland today. Alan McCaig from Bridge of Allan landed 2 Spring salmon in a matter of half an hour from the Aitken Head pool on the lower Tay Benchil beat below Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland on the Upper Scone fishings. Alan's salmon weighed 9 and 13 pounds and were both carefully returned in line with the Tay River Board recommendations of returning all spring salmon. That is now 4 salmon from the Benchil beat. The cold water temperature must be helping the lower Tay beats by slowing the salmon down. The river temperature was 36F or 2C today. Let us hope these catches continue throughout the spring.
