Salmon Fishing Scotland Catching Spring Salmon on the Tay, Perthshire, Scotland January 2010.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Catching Spring Salmon on the Tay, Perthshire, Scotland January 2010.

The good start to the river Tay Salmon Season continued with lovely spring salmon being landed today and on saturday past.
Spring salmon are also being caught fly fishing which is heartening. The salmon caught at Taymount today was also landed fly fishing from the bank. The river is dropping nicely and should be running clearer on the lower Tay for tomorrow with good weather forecast for the end of the week.

Gary Bruce with a magnificent 20 pounds Tay Spring Salmon caught from the Linn Pool on the Stobhall beat just above Stanley.

Peter Meek with a lovely 16 pounds spring salmon caught fly fishing on the Newtyle beat at Dunkeld, Perthshire, Scotland last Saturday.

This is a picture (autumn 2008) of Scottish Ghillie Blair Banks from the Brae beats of the river Spey in Morayshire. Blair came down for the day today and caught a sea liced 8 pounds spring salmon in Horsey on the Pitlochrie beat at Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland. Blair caught his springer fly fishing from the bank on a copper Willie Gunn tube fly. Blair is also a G Loomis pro guide.

Have been directed to your very impressive blog by George Henderson at Walk Scotland. I was telling him about when my husband and I spend time at the Hilton Dunkeld and my husband fishes there. We tend to go early October, it's so beautiful.

Best wishes, Kathryn (blog as Crystal Jigsaw)
