Salmon Fishing Scotland Summer Fly Fishing on the Tay July 2013,
The long awaited summer has well and truly arrived on the Tay in Perthshire, Scotland with temperatures soaring this week into the high 20's C. Even the river was feeling like a bath as it climbs close to 70 F or 21 C with the extreme heat for this area. This did not make life on the river easy however a few fish were still caught.
This was Anne Woodcock from Fishpal with a superb summer salmon caught at Cargill last week fly fishing. Anne is organising the upcoming Ladies days on the Tay in August. Details of ladies days.
Summer scene on Benchil in low water.
Benchil beat proprietor Francis Jennings playing a salmon in the boat in the Long Shot but unfortunately this was one that got away! Francis kindly donated one of the Ladies days on the 5th August on the picturesque Benchil beat for the Tay Foundation to raise funds for the Salmon eggs in the Classroom project.
