Salmon Fishing Scotland Catching Spring Salmon on the Tay, Perthshire, Scotland April 2013.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Catching Spring Salmon on the Tay, Perthshire, Scotland April 2013.

The Tay in Perthshire, Scotland is off to a flyer this week with over 40 spring salmon registered on the first day with the promise of another good week to come.

John lessels with a superb 14 pounds spring salmon caught in the Aitken Head pool of the Benchil beat just below Stanley.

This must be the story of the day as James McLay landed his first ever salmon with Ghillie Davie Seaton in the famous Pitlochrie pool weighing 8 pounds on the Upper Scone fishings. He then went on to land another 2 during the day at 9 and 11 pounds which will give him a very memorable days fishing to remember. Well done.

Calum McRoberts with a cracking 8 pounds salmon caught fly fishing on the Portnacraig beat at Pitlochry Dam. Afurther 18 pounds salmon was also landed there during the day. All in all another successful day on the Tay as fresh salmon run into the river and spread giving everyone sport right up the system.
