Salmon Fishing Scotland Weather in Tayside July 2012.
Currently the weather is so changeable in Tayside due to the current position of the Jet stream. Proper summer weather does not seem to exist any more. We seem to get 2 or 3 days of good or reasonable weather then everything deteriorates into torrential rain and yet another spate on the river.
This was the scene on Sunday night after a small shower. The river was settling nicely for Monday.
Good catches were achieved on Monday and Tuesday as the summer run strengthens. This was Kercock ghillie Gary Harkin with a lovely fresh salmon caught fly fishing on Tuesday evening.
Wednesday dawns and the heavens open yet again. By mid afternoon this was the scene on the Tay at Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland, a dirty spate as the ground could not cope with the monsoon type rain falling.
