Salmon Fishing Scotland Fly Fishing at Stanley on the Tay Spring 2009.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Fly Fishing at Stanley on the Tay Spring 2009.

Spring fly fishing on the Tay at Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland and not a cloud in the sky. The temperature however was fairly cold. It was -5 degrees Celsius when day break came in and the water temperature never rose above 1 degree all day. The plus point at the moment is that we do not have grue coming down the river unlike the Dee. There are some good fresh salmon entering the river. Jimmy Last down at Waulkmill had another salmon today (10/02/2009) and Taymount had a cracking 14 pounder. These cold temperatures certainly favour the lower Tay.

This was Peter Callaghan fly fishing from the boat in Kirkie on the Pitlochrie beat at Stanley.

Unlikely the river would have that type of food coming down -- I think you mean GRUE.

That's better -- now you've rectified the previous comment should be removed.

Wouldn’t be too hard to guess what DSL would have coming down his river. Knows his grue better than his grammar.
