Salmon Fishing Scotland Spring Salmon Fishing on the Middle Tay, Perthshire, Scotland April 2011.
We have had lots of water over the last few days and rising temperatures. This has enabled spring salmon to run throughout the river. Once the river settles properly everyone should have a good chance to land a spring salmon. Newtyle at Dunkeld certainly benefited from this yesterday landing 4 fresh spring salmon.
Allan Rennie, Newtyle regular with his second springer of the day, this one weighed 16 pounds and was covered with sea lice.
Allan Rennie with a lovely fresh 14 pounds Tay Springer landed from the boat. This was the first of 4 springers landed on the Newtyle beat yesterday.
A very happy Alistair Ferguson with his first springer on the day, a lovely sea liced 13 pounds salmon caught in the boat.
Alistair Ferguson with his second spring salmon of the day, this one weighed 15 pounds and was covered in long tailed sea lice. This means these fish have been running in fast from the sea to move quickly up river in favorable conditions.
A truly great day for Newtyle. Well done Martin.
