Salmon Fishing Scotland Flooding at the Opening day on the Tay.

Anglers warned over swollen river.

Anglers are being warned to take care on the swollen River Tay in Perthshire, Scotland as the salmon fishing season gets under way.

Heavy rainfall and melting snow could lead to flooding, with smaller watercourses particularly affected, according to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

The advice was given at the official opening of the season at the Tay, one of the UK's best-known sites for angling. Seasons start at different times on individual rivers.
