Salmon Fishing Scotland Spring Fly Fishing on the Tay February 2012.

Salmon Fishing Scotland Spring Fly Fishing on the Tay February 2012.

It was another very cold day on the Tay in Perthshire, Scotland. Temperatures were struggling to get much above freezing level. Fly fishing was difficult first thing in the morning with the rod rings freezing up but as the day went on conditions improved.
Iced up rings.

Michael McGrotty from Hamilton fly fishing in the Little Shot on the lower Tay Benchil beat just below Stanley.

The last few casts of the day as the sun goes down on a very cold February day.
