Salmon Fishing Scotland April Spring Salmon Fly Fishing on the Tay.

Salmon Fishing Scotland April Spring Salmon Fly Fishing on the Tay.

The river Tay had its best day of the year yesterday with a run of spring salmon going up the river. This was capped with a 30 pound beauty being caught at Newtyle at Dunkeld, Perthshire. Let us hope this continues next week.

Kenny Carr's huge Tay Springer landed on the fly yesterday in the cotter pool on the Dunkeld, Newtyle beat, the springer measured 41" x 22" which makes the fish 30.21lb by calculation. Very well done Kenny a true Tay Springer. This prize spring salmon will be leading the way in this years Saville Malloch Trophy for the largest fly caught Scottish Salmon and returned back to the river.

Paul McGeoch with a lovely 13lb springer caught fly fishing in the Cotter pool of the Newtyle beat at Dunkeld, Perthshire, Scotland.

Scottish ghillie Stuart Lean from the Lower Redgorton Beat with a lovely 12 pound springer caught fly fishing at Denmark Green. The salmon took a 1 inch Willie Gunn.
