Salmon fishing Scotland Kelt

This is a picture of a Kelt recently caught on the Catholes. Some anglers may think this is a fresh run salmon but they would be mistaken. Notice the large head in proportion to the rest of its body which is thin. Also the fins are ragged and the eye is down facing. If you catch a Salmon and you are in any doubt then return it safely.

Yesterday we had an 8lbs fish from the Slap on the Catholes and Upper Scone had a 14lbs fish in Horsey on the Pitlochrie beat which was returned.

He has now accounted for our 3 springers this year so far and I still have to get off the mark! You can't hide experience! I thought another picture of the wee man would get your comments like the last picture with Mary from Dublin.
